BOATING Safely Course (BSC)

This is a brief, basic boating course that provides core knowledge of safe boating elements.  The class is conducted on two consecutive Saturdays from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.   The cost is $25 per person for the book, exam, certificate, and other materials.  Additional family members who can use the same text book may sign up for $10 per person which will entitle them to the additional final exam, certificate and other materials.

Topics include Boating, Boating Laws, Safety Equipment, Safe Boat Handling, Navigation, Boating Problems, Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat, Hunting and Fishing, Water-Skiing, and River Boating. After passing the exam, class members will receive a certificate.

All classes are taught at Coast Guard Base Charleston, located at the west end of Tradd Street in do.  Click on the picture at the right for a map to the base.
