Duties and Eligibility of Elected Office

Listed below are the duties of a Flotilla Commander and Vice Flotilla Commander as stated in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Procedures Manual (COMDTINST M16791.5 Chapter 1 page 1 B. The People)

Their duties are as follows: 

1a. The Flotilla Commander (FC) provides primary leadership and supervision to the Flotilla. The FC is responsible to assure that the Flotilla overall Program conforms to the Coast Guard and Auxiliary polices and procedures, as well as provide the communications link with Division elected officers. 

1b. The vice Flotilla Commander (VFC) has the primary responsibility for administration and coordination of the Flotilla Staff. The VFC is essentially the Chief of Staff for the Flotilla. The Eligibility  Requirements as stated in the AUXMAN page 4-31 and listed below, are quite simple. Members meeting these qualifications may may submit their names for placement on the Ballot to the Review Committee.

  FLOTILLA COMMANDER (FC)  

Eligibility To Assume Office: Member for one year prior to nomination. Current in requirement for designation as VE, IT, or in Operations. *Completed Administrative Procedures, or Elected Officer's Course, or AUXMIN specialty course.  

VICE FLOTILLA COMMANDER (VFC)

Eligibility to Assume Office: Member for one year prior to nomination. Current in requirement for designation as VE, IT, or in Operations. *Completed Administrative Procedures or Elected Officer's course, or AUXMIN specialty course.
